EVENT OVERVIEW

The 3rd Annual Reel Independent Film Extravaganza (RIFE) will take place October 12 – 18, 2012 at West End Cinemas in Washington, DC. “More than a festival” – is an event created by filmmakers FOR filmmakers. The event strives to present the best of independent films in a variety of categories from around the world in an environment designed to provide unique opportunities for participants to interact with one another while networking with film professionals of the like. The Reel Independent Film Extravaganza is more than a festival---it is a new kind of experience!

In its second year RIFE tripled its attendance and featured films from around the world. Now in its third year RIFE will enhance the experience of all film lovers. RIFE at West End Cinemas has relocated to the prestigious Georgetown sector of Washington, DC and will complete a week long theatrical run from Friday October 12 through Thursday October 18. The festival will present an exhibition of local and international film works while celebrating emerging filmmakers, independent films and entertainment industry professionals. Thursday, October 12, the opening night will feature a Meet & Greet for visitors and participants to network and prepare for the week to come. Sunday, October 14 will showcase the 2012 RIFE Awards Brunch to honor the filmmakers and actors.

This event is presented by Skyrocket Productions. A portion of the proceeds from the film festival will benefit A World Fit for Kids and Susan G Komen for the Cure.  ALL genres and films accepted!

We. Love. Movies. We love them. From summer blockbusters to offbeat indie dramas, we want to see them all. But here in Washington, we realize that all those art house, off-the-beaten-path kinds of films can be hard to find.
